Jordan’s Sacred Atlantic Pistachio of Prophecy
In the arid expanse of Safawi, Jordan, 156 km from Amman, the Sahabi Tree, or Tree of al-Buqayawiyya, stands as a 1500-year-old Atlantic Pistachio (Pistacia atlantica), revered beyond Treesolo’s solitary giants for its profound spiritual legacy. On the ancient trade route between Mecca and Damascus, this tree offered shade to a 12-year-old Muhammad during a caravan journey with his uncle Abu Talib. Here, the monk Bahira is said to have foretold Muhammad’s prophethood, etching the tree into Islamic history. Protected by a fence commissioned by King Abdullah, this living relic draws Muslim pilgrims and curious travellers to its sacred boughs. Visit the Sahabi Tree to stand where history and faith intertwine, and share its serenity with the world!
